Why Not!, May 12, 2012 By  AGHerbert (usa) - See all my reviews    This review is from: Takara Blacktop Fixie Bike (24-Inch Wheels, Green) (Sports) I live in Boston and ride all year - yes we use lots of salt in the winter - I spend on a traditional bike (i.e. the fancy one with gears and disc brakes...and shocks) north of $300 per year at my bike shop - amazing that a replacement wheel and chain can cost more than this bike! So this is a great bike (bikemania is a little cheaper). Just know you need some metric allen wrenches and if it lasts a year, then you have the ultimate disposable bike .... but I think with so few movable parts and a life time guarantee on the frame you do-it-your-selfers will be able to not only save the planet but also a lot of dollars!
