This KMC chain turned out to be clearly superior to the OEM chains they replaced, and not just because the old chains were shot (e.g., stretched). - I was a bit skeptical that the X.99 would live up to KMC's claims about it's anti-stretch, smoother-shifting, lower noise, etc. technology, but so far I cannot dispute any their claims. Shifting is NOTICEABLY smoother and more quiet than before on both bikes on which the X.99 has been installed. The old sprocket hunting on the rear clusters has disappeared, and the shifts from chainring to chainring snap in place immediately rather than take a couple of spins before the chain seats. I am currently running KMC's on all my bikes. Not just this one, but HD single speeds and 9's and 10 speeds. I wanted to use a Light weight chain but strong, they don't make make a hollow pin or slotted plate in the 8speed type and this is as close to it as I could get. It will not disappoint. Finish is great and should meet any ones standards and unless you running a special Campy cassette or so other Uber exotic drive train this is the ticket.
