It is quiet, smooth, and does it's job accordingly.My only gripe with it is that the mechanism, dare I say it, sounds... cheap and tinny. When pedaling or coasting, it just sounds like the mechanism is not exactly a quality part. It is Shimano and I KNOW it is a quality company, but just the sound of it makes it sound cheaper than it is. Makes me feel a bit unsure of the long-term reliability.
