It's thick with what appear to be beefier than normal pins and links. Downgraded to 4 stars because I dislike the snaplock mechanism. It appears that once you fix the snaplock, you can't ever undo it without considerable effort to shorten the chain or move it to another bike. It went together easily, and the best part is that you cannot see the master link when you're finished - it looks like a one piece chain. I have since replaced two other single speed bike chains with the Sram PC 1 simply due to the fact that it is stronger than some of the other cheaper chains (most colored chains) and it is heavier duty which stops stretching. This eliminated having to adjust the tension after every ride as with the other chains. I recommend this chain to anyone replacing one on an average rider or cruiser. |
